John Hayes is an Independent Technology Consultant and principal of Hayes Technology Services, of Felton, California. Mr. Hayes has a hybrid skill set - technology and finance - developed during his twenty years in the computer industry, ten spent as a technology consultant with Digital Equipment Corporation. He specializes in studying and helping companies take advantage of the acquisition dynamics of the technology marketplace.

In 1991, Mr. Hayes worked for Avnet Computer, a $500M division of the $6 billion Avnet, Inc. and was one of the founding members of Avnet's Technology Migration Center in Tempe, Arizona. He co-authored Avnet's Technology Management Maintenance Service (TMMS[sm]), a unique service offering that is being used by over one hundred of Avnet's clients, including almost twenty of the Fortune 100, to acquire and manage about $200,000,000 of rapidly changing technology environments. TMMS was honored in 1996 as a case study at the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. Mr. Hayes was twice awarded Corporate MVP while at Avnet.
