RapidDomain
New Domain Reservation Service
RapidSite has released a new domain reservation service called RapidDomain. This
service has been created to accommodate customers who need domains registered without
active Web sites in place. RapidDomain has many advantages over using third party
services. Some of these advantages include:
- Having a domain that already points to our servers reduces the hassle that often comes
with transferring a domain.
- Our Premier Partner status with the InterNIC will ensure timely solutions to any domain
modification request that may arise with your customer's domain.
$49.95 plus NIC fees (billed
separately) will reserve your domain.
 | Under Construction default page included. |
 | Unlimited mail forwarding to a default address |
 | If the reserved domain name is upgraded to a Personal thru Enterprise unix hosting plan,
the hosting plan setup fee will be waived. |
Note: The setup fee does not include NIC fees which are billed
separately. The U.S. InterNIC (.com, .net, .org) charges $70 for the first two years and
$35 per year thereafter. Also, the setup fee is non-refundable, as are any renewal fees.
RapidPointer+
(Domain Pointer: Register a domain and point it to any IP address)
(One Page Site: create a custom home page using RapidBuilder)
You can have additional domain names point to your existing web site
account. For example, if you have an on-line clothing store you may wish to have the
domain names clothes.com, shirts.com, and jeans.com all point to your account. This is an
excellent way to increase your visibility and bring more visitors to your site!
$10/mo. plus an initial $25 setup fee
Here's what you get:
 | The ability to point the domain to any IP address you specify -or-
Create a 1-page web site using the RapidBuilder authoring tool |
 | 1MB of disk space for POP3 e-mail. |
 | 1 POP3 e-mail account |
 | 1 autoresponder |
 | Unlimited e-mail forwarding to a default address |
 | A web-based Control Panel to administer your Domain Pointer online, anytime. |
You can also purchase additional e-mail forwards, POP3 e-mail accounts and disk space
if needed.
Fine print:
 | The InterNIC (the governing agency in the US) charges a registration fee
of $70 for each new domain name (.com, .net, .org), which covers 2 years. After the 2nd
year they will charge you $35 per year. |
 | If you are requesting a non-U.S. InterNIC domain name as a pointer (not
a .com, .net, .org, etc.) you will be required to register the domain name with the local
InterNIC. |
 | A Domain Pointer can point to any IP address you specify, however, it cannot
point to a subdirectory. |
 | Your domain will point to an "Under Construction" page until
you specify the IP address you want your Domain Pointer to point to. |
 | You may change where your Domain Pointer points at any time through your
online account Control Panel. |
